Support Us / Donations in celebration

Giving a donation in lieu of birthday, wedding, or anniversary presents is a personal way to help the work of Myositis UK and celebrate your special occasion.

Rather than receiving gifts why not ask family and friends to donate to Myositis UK?

You can create a donations page for your celebration on the Giving Websites Just Giving or Virgin Money Giving for your family and friends to make their donations securely. Setting up a page will take about 10 minutes and is very easy to do with step by step instructions. On your page you can write as much or as little as you wish, upload a photograph, and send automatic thank you notes. A donations page in celebration is a unique, personal and fun way to raise money.

Alternatively, donation forms with Gift Aid declaration can be created and posted to you for inclusion with your invitations. Cheques in pounds sterling should be made payable to Myositis UK.

All monies received will be mentioned in the charities Newsletter – Myositis News and website so please feel free to write about your day and send photographs to be included.

If you have any questions about donating in celebration please contact us.

GIFT AID - Make your donation worth almost a 25% MORE at no extra cost to you
If you are a UK taxpayer and you instruct us, we can reclaim the tax you've paid on your donation and your donation will be worth more to Myositis UK.

For every £1 you donate we can reclaim can extra 25p
A £10 donation once the tax is reclaimed is worth £12.50
A £20 donation once the tax is reclaimed is worth £25
A £50 donation once the tax is reclaimed is worth £62.50

For us to do this you must declare that you wish for your donation to be reclaimed under the Gift Aid scheme.

The additional money is reclaimed from the Inland Revenue and does not cost you anymore than the original donation you made.

For your donation to be processed under the Gift Aid scheme you (the donor) must have paid enough UK Income or Capital Gains Tax to cover all of your charitable donations (other taxes such as Council Tax and VAT do not qualify) in the year.

If you are donating on either of our secure online servers there is a box for you to tick.

If you are sending a donation by cheque please include a note to request a Gift Aid declaration form and we will return one to you for completion.
